Our Whirlwind Weekend at Sherborne Artisan Market

They say no plan survives first contact with the weekend rush, and boy, did we put that theory to the test!

This past weekend, Salty Shower Co. officially went mobile. We packed up the car and headed to the beautiful, historic town of Sherborne, Dorset, for the Artisan Market. If you’ve never been, it’s a stunning backdrop of abbey walls and cobblestones—the perfect place for a "salty" debut.

But, in true "startup life" fashion, the journey wasn't without its hiccups.

The "Minimalist" Masterplan (Or: I Forgot the Shelves)

When I arrived to set up the pop-up stall, I realized I’d committed the ultimate market sin: I forgot my display shelves and dressing items. There I was, with boxes of beautiful products and a very flat, very empty table. But as any small business owner knows, you pivot or you perish. I leaned into a "raw and rustic" look, focused on clear signage, and let the products speak for themselves. Honestly? It made the stall feel approachable and open. Sometimes, the universe forces you into a "less is more" aesthetic!

The Star of the Show: The Salty Note

The highlight of the weekend wasn't just the sales—it was the feedback.

I was blown away by the response to The Salty Note. People really "got" the concept of sending some calm and transforming a daily routine into a sensory ritual. There is nothing quite like seeing someone’s face light up when they realize they can have a spa experience without needing a bathtub.

The absolute peak of my day? A lovely lady actually tracked me down through the crowds specifically to tell me she LOVED her shower salts. As a founder, those are the moments that fuel the late-night packing sessions and the early-morning drives.

What Left the Table

While the Shower Salts were the main event, we were thrilled to see our other ranges find new homes too:

  • Artisan Candles: Lighting up homes across Dorset.

  • Room Sprays: Bringing that fresh, salty breeze indoors.

What’s Next?

Sherborne taught me that while shelves are great, connection is better. Meeting you all in person, hearing your stories, and seeing your reactions is why I started Salty Shower Co. in the first place.

Dorset, you were a dream. We’ll see you at the next one—and I promise I’ll try to remember the shelves next time!
